With only 10 days till Christmas Eve, I’m feeling a bit STRESSED! There’s just so much to do! I have to send out of Christmas cards, pick up a few Christmas gifts, wrap the gifts….The list goes on and on!
Especially since we have 4 kids, the youngest being 3 months old, it’s super busy in our household!
But with all the chaos that the holidays can bring, we need to take a step back and recognize the true meaning of Christmas!
Have you guys seen the Trolls Holiday Special? Well I have! (and I’ve watched it a couple times already…because of the kids) But the Trolls have got it right! The holidays are not about the gifts, the glitter or the decorations. The holidays are about being with the ones you love and being grateful for all the wonderful things in life.
This is what the book “25 Gifts for Christmas” is really about.
This book is pretty neat because it was created with the Advent Calendar in mind. Starting December 1st, you’re suppose to read one of the “gifts” every day, leading up to Christmas. After reading the book, I’ve realized that I have so many things to be grateful for.
Here are some of my reflections after reading the book
I am grateful for the gift of Family and Loved Ones
I am truly blessed to have a wonderful family. I have four amazing children who are healthy and who bring so much joy to my life. I have a wonderful mother who doesn’t mind babysitting so I can have a much needed break. I have in laws who are very supportive and always help out whenever we need them!
I am grateful for the gift of Home
I love our home so much. We are so blessed to live in a wonderful community filled with friendly and kind people. I am so blessed to live in a peaceful country where we can live our lives as we please. We often take this for granted. I love the house that I live in where I share countless happy memories with my family.
I am grateful for the gift of Health
I am so grateful for my physical and mental health. I am grateful that my children are well and happy.
I am grateful for the gift of music
Music is such a big part of my life. My husband plays the piano and it brings so much joy to the family. The children love to sing and dance to their favourite tunes. Without music life would be boring! I am so grateful for music!
I am grateful for the gift of Life
As I gaze at my 3 month old son, I am amazed at the gift of life. I am so grateful to have him in my life. He’s beautiful and adorable. I love how he can laugh and smile. He is the gift of life. I am grateful to have brought four little ones into the world. It’s such a wonderful blessing.
I’d like to send my deepest condolences to the author and creator of this book, Tatiana Cameron, who recently lost her dear husband to cancer.
