Review of the Woodlands Resort and Conference Centre

I couldn’t wait to go on our Texas trip. It was a family trip that I was really looking forward to. As a mama of three little girls, life has been crazy busy and I have been trying my best to manage it all. I juggle work, family, housework and to be honest, it’s been stressful to the point that I was burning out, so this was a much needed break for myself.

With only one week in Texas, I knew we had a lot to pack in. I was looking forward to spending some quality time with my sister and her fam and I was also looking forward to getting some serious shopping done. My husband only goes shopping in the states because there’s way more selection and better deals. But besides the shopping, we decided to sneak in some R&R and stay at the luxurious Woodlands Resort and Convention Centre.

What a treat! I must say, this resort is by far the most beautiful, most impressive, and most comfortable resort I have ever been to. There are so many good things about this resort, I don’t know where to begin. I just wish I had more time to explore the whole place.

Let’s start with the rooms. Wow, our rooms were fantastic. I loved the decor. It had a woodsy yet modern and clean look. The colours in the decor were  browns and neutrals which felt really calming. We had two rooms connected with an adjoining room which was a spacious living room with eating area. It was perfect for families. There was space for all our luggage and other belongings. I really liked the bathroom. I wish we had a bathroom like that in our home. The toilet had a separate room. The shower was a walk in one with a rain shower head which I loved.

The beds were just heavenly. The bedsheets were so soft and smooth and the mattress was just perfect- not too hard or soft! It was just so comfy you didn’t want to get out of bed. Exactly how beds should be right? LOL! Our room also had a mini fridge, microwave and a Keurig machine. We brought our own cream and Starbucks Coffee which we preferred over the kind of coffee they provided in the room. Man, was it awesome to wake up and make your own coffee in the morning.

The pools were just amazing. The kids went swimming every single day and had a blast. My husband and I especially loved relaxing in the hot tub. My kids also loved floating down the lazy river on inner tubes. Unfortunately, when we were there the water slides were closed, but I’m sure they would have been awesome to slide down. During the busy summer months, I hear they also have a lot of activities happening pool side, like movie nights and dance lessons and entertainment. We went at a time when it wasn’t that busy which was a plus for us. It felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. Perfect time to go in my opinion!

The breakfast buffet was just superb. They could cook you up an omelette just the way you like it. The pancakes and waffles were made right in front of you. The bacon was crisp and delicious and the service was very attentive. We were feeling very satisfied and stuffed after that breakfast.

The service was excellent. The way they cleaned the rooms was very detailed. They gave us whatever we needed. When we asked for more blankets and towels the service was prompt and we felt very comfortable and happy. We would definitely come back to this resort. What a lovely experience but more importantly the kids had the time of their lives, just playing and being with each other. We created memories that we will have forever.

The Woodlands is a great place to visit. There’s lots to see and do. According to The, “The Woodlands, one of the top master planned communities in the nation, fosters the best in family life, career opportunities, and neighbourhood involvement.” Here’s what you’ll find in the Woodlands:
