I love reading blog posts about beauty products. You know when you go to the drug store and you take a look at mascara or lipstick and you wanna try it but you don’t want to risk wasting 10 bucks if you didn’t like it? Well here are my favourite beauty products that I use daily to help minimize some of the guesswork. I like to use a variety of products from different price ranges but usually, they’re reasonably priced. I used to use this Revlon mascara that my sister in law showed me but I think they discontinued it! =( I also used to used benefit’s Bad Gal Lash which was really awesome but I wanted something cheaper. There’s tons of great products out there, I’m sure, that are very affordable and I just don’t know about them. That’s why I love blogs! Everyone shares their secrets. Here’s my top beauty products!
Maybeline’s Rocket Volum’express
My little sister showed me this one. I was just going through her make up collection and asked her if I could try her mascara and it worked great. It lifts it, thickens the lashes without being too clumpy and you don’t have to do a billion strokes before you get the look you want. My lashes aren’t very thick or long and this product definelty gives me the look I want. It’s fairly cheap at 5 to 6 bucks.
Bare Escentuals was having a sale and so I picked up a bunch of different face products. I love using this concealer under my eyes to hide the bags. Most nights, I don’t get much sleep, so this product definitely helps to cover those dark areas. I also use it over my eyelids which also makes me look more awake (I hope!) Lol! The sales associate also told me that you can use this product all over your face to cover up the blemishes or discolouration. Bottom line, great product!
I used this a long time ago and then I stopped using it because I went to a compact powder and now I’ve switched back to using this. It’s an oldie, but a goodie for sure! It’s easy to apply, its gives you a nice medium coverage, it blends easily, and it gives you that nice dewey, healthy skin look!! You can never go wrong when you go with this product!
Benefit’s Brow Zings
I’ve also been using this product for quite some time now. It goes on easily with an angled brush. The colour matches my natural eyebrow colour. In the compact you get a darker colour and a lighter colour. Both work well and help fill in the areas of my brow that are lighter.
Ever Bilena liquid eyeliner
I bought this liquid eyeliner from Daiso. If you are not familiar with Daiso, it’s a Japan based discount household and lifestyle product store. That’s the description that I got off their website. I call it the 2 dollar store because most of their products are around that price. I’ve been using this brand of eyeliner for several years now and it works perfectly for me AND it was 2 bucks! You definitely can’t go wrong with that price! I hear their false lashes are also awesome but I haven’t tried those yet.
NYX Micro Brow Pencil
Ok, brows are all the rage these days! I’ve seen pin after pin after pin on how to get more defined brows. So…I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and decided to try a new eyebrow PENCIL. Before using this pencil, I was more into using the brow powder. After reading a brow tutorial, I now use this awesome NYX pencil to draw the outline of the brow and then I fill it in with the benefit Brow Zings. I like this pencil a lot. No need for sharpening. It doesn’t break. Lots of pigment so it goes on easily. At around 12 bucks its a pretty great product.
JLB Cosmetics Contouring Palette
I love shopping at stores like Ross and Marshalls for make up. Why? Because the make up is great quality and ridiculously cheap. So if it doesn’t work out, no problem, it was cheap anyway. The last time I went to Marshalls I lucked out and found this contouring palette for super cheap. I can’t remember how much it was but I’m sure it was under 10 bucks and it came with two! If you want to try this brand you can find on Amazon and other websites.
MAC lipstick- Plumful
MAC is still my favourite for lipstick. There’s no smell and it leaves your lips feeling moisturized. Plumful looks natural on me and is subtle enough to wear everyday. I’m not brave enough to wear a bold lip daily but on special occasions I will.
bareMinerals Complexion Rescue
If I want more coverage I add this to my beauty routine. It feels good on and easily blends. It covers up imperfections well and it has an SPF of 30 which is a plus! BareMinerals has been coming up with great products!
Well, that’s all folks! What are your favourite beauty products that you can’t live without?
