Kids these days are so lucky with all the cool tech they have access to! They have their iPads, they’ve got Netflix, and they’ve got our smart phones to play with when they’re bored! My daughter got a couple gift cards for ToysRUs for her birthday so I let her pick what she wanted. The kids watch a lot of TV when they are at grandma’s so they end up seeing a lot of commercials which is why my daughter knew about this toy!
So we’re walking up and down the aisles and we can’t find anything we like. I suggest a number of toys to her and she’s not interested in any of them until we come across the V Tech Kidizoom Smartwatch. Immediately she’s like, “Mom, I want this!” I’m like, “Are you sure you want this?” I’m thinking in my head, I hope this is not something they will just play with for a day and then forget about it. After all, it’s not the cheapest toy. It’s $70. Kids are usually just as happy with a dollar store item as well and of course, if I get a smartwatch for one kid, I have to get one for the other kid too otherwise they will fight or be jealous of the other one. (Luckily baby number 3 is still to young to be jealous of a sibling’s toy.) So, I grab 2 girly purple smartwatches.
My middle child always thinks of her older sister. She says, “we have to get one for Ate too!” (Ate means older sister). I bring home both watches and I hope that the older sister will like it. Did she like it? YES! She loved it!! Next thing I know, they’re both running around the house as fast as they can timing themselves with their new watches. They are recording their voices. They are taking pictures with it and the quality of the pictures are better than previous V Tech toys we’ve had in the past. It’s a touch screen. It has an alarm that my daughter has been using so she can wake up for her golf camp. (Yes, my daughter’s in golf camp! ha ha!) My husband says it’s pretty intuitive to use.
